Health Precautions
While we no longer require proof of covid-19 vaccinations nor mask-wearing in our classes, we welcome families who choose to continue masking and/or social distancing. We will have a stash of extra adult and kid-sized disposable masks if you ever forget yours and would like to wear one.
We have a large garage door that functions essentially as a fourth wall in our classroom space. We will keep the garage door open as often as weather permits to allow fresh air circulation throughout classes.
We have invested in air purifiers in our gathering and classroom spaces that run whenever anyone is in our building. Toys in the gathering space and instruments in the classroom are sanitized after each use. Both spaces are deep cleaned weekly (carpets cleaned and floors steam cleaned). Our bathroom is cleaned and sanitized once a day and on an as-needed basis.
Team TLB Health Precautions
All Tenn Little Birds teachers (and any of their children) are current and up to date with any and all covid-19 vaccinations and boosters.
Many of the Tenn Little Birds teachers and administrative staff will choose to continue to wear masks when teaching inside or occasionally outside, even when not expected or required. We do this for our own families and also for our Tenn Little Birds community members who may still be too young to be vaccinated or who are immuno-compromised or who live with vulnerable loved ones.
Health and Safety
If you or your child has had a fever, thrown up, or has had diarrhea within 24 hours of class, please stay home! A contagious skin rash or a severe cold with a continuously runny nose are also reasons to keep your child home. Beyond this, if your child is uncomfortable or overly tired with allergies or asthma, the best place for them might be at home resting. Please practice your best judgment when regarding community health. If you have any questions or concerns about whether or not to attend class, please email us at [email protected].
Tenn Little Birds Weather & Unforeseen Cancellations Policy
Because all of our classes are held indoors, most weather will not impact our regular schedule. That said, we closely monitor conditions and circumstances to ensure the safety and comfort of our families and teachers. Here’s what to expect:
Winter Weather (Ice / Snow)
If Metro Nashville Public Schools (MNPS) are closed or delayed, we may cancel or adjust our morning classes.
Families will be notified at least one hour before class via:
• Text message
• Email
• Instagram (@tennlittlebirds)
Severe Weather (Tornadoes, High Winds, Flooding)
• If a Tornado Warning is issued for Davidson County, classes will be canceled.
• If there is significant flooding or power outages affecting our studio or surrounding streets, we may cancel class for safety reasons.
• On Tornado Watch days, we will closely monitor conditions and notify families if plans change.
Unforeseen or Facility-Related Cancellations
Occasionally, circumstances outside of our control may require us to cancel classes. These may include, but are not limited to:
• Scheduled or emergency utility work (such as power, water, or HVAC outages)
• Building or facility issues
• Situations where the studio space is temporarily unavailable or unsafe to use
In these cases, we will notify impacted families as soon as possible via text, email, and Instagram.
If a Class Is Canceled
• If Tenn Little Birds cancels class for any reason, families may schedule a make-up using our Bonus & Make-Up Scheduler through the member portal.
• Members may also reschedule missed classes using the Bonus & Make-Up Scheduler.
As Always…
You know your family best. If weather, road conditions, or unexpected circumstances feel unsafe or unworkable for your family, please reach out and we will happily help you reschedule.
Safety, flexibility, and care for our community are always at the heart of what we do.
