Tenn Little Birds is a family-centered music and movement center for children birth through second grade and the adults who love them, thriving in East Nashville, TN since 2017. We offer mixed-age classes, baby classes, and classes for preschool through second grade age children with developmentally appropriate activities and an emphasis on parental participation.
We see music as the universal language of connection, a base of how we form powerful relationships together and promotes creativity and self-expression.
Here’s who we’re looking for:
- You have excellent music skills, can sing, play, and create magic with families and their kids.
- You can sing and move to a beat accurately and have a natural affinity to the power of music .
- You’re emotionally intelligent and are able to tune into what a room needs.
- Accurately teach the Music Together curriculum while facilitating what’s needed in the moment.

- You’re a natural leader.
- You’re a clear and confident communicator.
- Have the flexibility to grow with the Tenn LIttle Birds Family, and are looking to form a long-term relationship with us.
- Must pass the Music Together Training prior to teaching with us.
- Are fun, playful, and bring joy to those you work with.
- You are trustworthy, and have integrity - you follow through on your word.
- Starting part-time work - with potential to grow into full-time staff.
- Compensation is competitive, with the option to evolve.
Training includes a mandatory three-day teacher training offered by Music Together Worldwide (there are several trainings per year, held online) and a short apprentice/co-teaching period with one of our senior teachers/mentors. Training costs may be subsidized depending on circumstances. An apprenticeship could begin prior to three-day training.
This type of teaching works beautifully in conjunction with other part-time work and is ideal for a student in music, theater, music therapy, or early-childhood education. A degree in music is NOT required for this position. Playing an instrument is an asset but also, not required. Our teachers come from diverse backgrounds: musical theatre performers, private music instructors, dance teachers, parents who adore our program, pre-school teachers, etc.
To apply, please send a brief resume (including a link to an audio or video clip recording of your singing voice would be helpful but is not mandatory) to [email protected].
