Our Teachers

Meet the Teachers of Tenn Little Birds

Our teachers come from all sorts of backgrounds, but they’re united by a common passion: Sharing the joy of music with children and families in East Nashville.  All teachers have successfully completed the live Music Together Teacher Training, which is built on research in early childhood and music development. We keep our skills fresh through workshops every semester and advanced trainings offered by Music Together Worldwide.

Allison is director of Tenn Little Birds as well as a registered Music Together teacher.  She was born and raised in the rural farmlands of Boyertown, Pennsylvania.  As a little girl, she would walk around singing to everyone because she thought it was the same as talking.  Due to this confusion, she began singing in choir at the age of 3, and has been in the theater since she was 13.  Allison holds a Bachelor of Music in Voice from Westminster Choir College.  During her studies, she had the honor of singing under conductors Kurt Masur, Mariss Jansons, Pierre Boulez and Michael Tilson Thomas at Carnegie Hall.  Post-graduation, Allison moved to the concrete jungle of NYC.  There she studied acting at Matthew Corozine Studios and furthered her passion for theater.  Recently she and her partner Ryan relocated to East Nashville.  She could not be more grateful for their beautiful home, the lack of snow in Southern winters, and their two rescue pups Bodhi and CoCo.  Allison is currently studying at Belmont University to become a certified music therapist.

Meg Braun is a singer/songwriter known for her fearless writing, dynamic vocal style and performances that have charmed audiences throughout her musical travels. She relocated from New York City to Nashville in 2015, after releasing her third album of original songs, garnering her recognition as a Falcon Ridge Folk Festival Emerging Artist and Kerrville New Folk Finalist. After touring extensively during 2015 and 2016, she found herself looking for more ways to connect to her Nashville community. Having trained to be a Music Together teacher while in New York City, she began exploring using that training and was thrilled when this opportunity with Tenn Little Birds appeared.  Meg couldn’t be more excited to share the joy of music with the Tenn Little Birds community through Music Together classes.

Emily Keith is a singer, guitarist, and songwriter.  She studied Musical Theatre at AMDA in Los Angeles and has recorded two albums as a Country/Americana artist.  She grew up in Los Angeles where she spend her early childhood and adolescence participating in choirs and playing in bands.  After relocating to Nashville, and having two girls, she began looking for a way to continue pursuing music while being a Mom.  She found Music Together and could not be more thrilled about helping children discover the joy of music.
